Elmbridge Young Musicians is an informal youth band providing an opportunity for young people in the Elmbridge borough, with an interest in music, to come together and play in a group. All abilities and instruments (from Grade 1 upwards) are encouraged to join in and have fun.
Playing an instrument in a group is quite different to playing on your own and involves listening and keeping going even when you make a mistake!
The aim of the group is to develop musicianship (learning to listen, count time and develop musical expression) at the same time as having fun in a relaxed and friendly environment. Instrumental tuition is not provided. Positions are open to any instrument however we have limited slots for some instruments.
We plan to perform concerts and play at public events, giving our musicians the experience of playing in front of an audience.
EYM meets at St Christopher’s Church in Hinchley Wood on alternate Saturdays from 2pm to 3.30pm. Refer to the rehearsal schedule for dates.
